Act
The NASDA Acting programme is set up to give students high quality practical training for those
wanting a career as an actor in the professional acting industry. Our aim is to provide students
with the skill base that will enable them to make a positive impact on the world stage.
The course is designed to enable students to develop both the skills and understanding necessary
for the role of the actor through a range of carefully selected classes and projects. Learning
activities include tutor led classes, dramatic literature seminars, research and study, workshops,
rehearsals and performances.
Reflection and analysis on the student's own work, and the work of others is an important part of
the learning process. By graduation, students will be expected to act with confidence, craft and
self reliance to a professional level. The intensive public performance programme in the third
year is designed to introduce students to the rigours and discipline of professional theatre practice.
Recent productions include:
Summerfolk (Gorky), Ophelia Thinks Harder, The Venetian Twins (Goldini), Marat/Sade (Peter Weiss), Cider with Rosie, Aftershocks
