The most well-loved and beautiful music and lyrics produced by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein, will receive a fitting tribute in this fabulous, sophisticated event celebrating their inestimable contribution to musical theatre.

This is a concert for musical theatre lovers of all ages with all the marvellous, familiar tunes, which are as fresh today as ever. Rodgers and Hammerstein perfected their art with Oklahoma! the first “blockbuster” Broadway show which remains one of the most frequently produced of the team’s projects.

The mid-twentieth century embraced their sounds in musical shows, which became overnight hits in London, New York and throughout the world – Carousel, The King and I and The Sound of Music, among them. Their popularity has never waned, and the music is as well loved by today’s generation as it was when first played.

The full orchestral might of CSO will be on show, and the talent of some of New Zealand’s leading performers, including the NASDA Chorus, will add their unique styles in this formidable theatrical concert which will have you wanting more.
